After many months away from blogging, I'm going to give it another try. I'll be updating the blog design, making it fresher, posting regularly and reporting on my knitting and other adventures.
In the time since I last blogged, I've moved back to California, started a new job, been ordained (just call me Rev!), bought a car, decorated my very own home, got a new kitten, and knit quite a lot! I'm planning to post sermons, art projects, pictures of my life, knitting reports and random thoughts. I've missed keeping a blog, and now that I finally have internet access at home again (an issue when you live deep in the woods), I'm gonna make it happen.
My camera died a while ago, so for now I will just have shoddy iPhone pictures to share, but I'll do my best with them for now.
Here is my latest knitting project, hot off the needles. My first February Lady Sweater! Knit in Malabrigo Rios, color Comparcita. It's a tiny bit brighter and redder in real life than in this picture. I am in love with this sweater! It fits well, is easy to wear and reasonably flattering, and was a fun and quick knit.
Well...not really so quick, since I started it in October, but it did hibernate for most of the winter with only a few inches done. I picked it up again about a month ago, and once I was dedicated to knitting it, it was quite quick. Even though I rarely knit the same thing twice, I'm actually considering knitting another one of these in blue, because I think it's going to be a sweater I want to wear often.
Now I'm working on a shawl in madelinetosh Merino Light that will be beautiful, but is getting a bit boring to knit right now. It has a mostly garter stitch body with a lace pattern on the bottom 4 inches or so, but I still have many inches of garter to do until I get to anything I have to think about. I think I need to start something else that's a bit more complicated for solo knitting, as the shawl is great for social knitting.
In my next post: My social knitting report: Where do I knit now? Who do I knit with? And, oh yeah, what do I do all day in Santa Cruz? Stay tuned...
Glad to have you back! I was hoping things were going well for you.

Most glad to see you again. I tried to write Auntie Knickers that I kinda knew you through Rav but her comment thing wasn't working--I was rather pleased that I knew someone only thru internet related.
I'm about to start seminary myself!

Yay!! So glad you're blogging again. That sweater looks great on you! I have the pattern but have never undertaken it. I am, however, obsessed with that Summer Shawlette you did a while back and have made more than one...
