OK, first let me say thanks for the hair comments! Y'all are so sweet. Everyone at school is commenting on it--yesterday I felt like I was in a sitcom, with people literally calling out compliments from 2nd story windows! Very funny.
So, I have been knitting again!!! After a few months of cross-stitching and reading mystery novels and sewing, the hint of fall is in the air and I'm itchin' to knit. First I have my new blue lace shawl in the Silky Wool. I've done about 4 repeats of the lace pattern--it's called Amphoras--and it's hard to tell with this yarn how it will turn out.
I love the earthy feel of the Silky Wool, and the lace shawl I saw at the lys looked very well-defined, so I hope I picked the right pattern for it. I'm really enjoying the knitting, just complicated enough to keep me interested, but with easily memorized rows.
Nest, we have the long-avoided buttonhole bag for Carolyn. It's been many months since I started this bag, and I just got sick of the boring green wool stockinette!
I just fudged the handles and the top, not bothering to look at the pattern online again when I finally decided to just finish it the other night, so hopefully when it's felted it will be just what Carolyn wanted, if she can even remember asking for it!
As soon as I get some quarters together, I'll felt it and show you the results!
