well, apparently I should have gotten my wisdom teeth removed a while ago, and I'm paying for it now. I have an impacted wisdom tooth that's caused a gum infection. Yes, it's painful, and yes, I should get it removed asap, and yes, I'm leaving for two weeks in the woods in two days. UGH.
I went to the doctor on Friday, and she gave me antibiotics and lots of painkillers. Of course, I don't have dental insurance and of course I'm broke right now (I maxed out my credit card paying for the prescriptions). SO even if I can get an emergency dental appointment in the next two days, I have no way of paying for it. <sigh>
The doctor gave me a month's worth of antibiotics, basically saying I have to take them until I can get the tooth removed. Obviously, an infection in the gum/jaw is dangerous, as it's so close to other important stuff, like the BRAIN. The lovely antibiotics make me feel sick to my stomach, and I'm trying to ration the vicodin so I don't get addicted.
I can't wait to go camping!
So, if you live in the Bay Area and have dental advice for me, I'd love some, and otherwise, say a prayer that it all works out.
At least I feel OK enough today to do some crafting--yesterday I just groaned on the couch all day listening to NPR.
